Current News at All Saints'
The Food Bank
is running low on food. Members of the congregation are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food to the specially marked crib in the lower gathering space. Donations will be delivered to the food bank on a regular basis.
A canned-food drive
during the month of May is being organized by the 5th grade Sunday school class. Please support their efforts by dropping a can or two in the baskets outside of the 5th grade classroom and in the pre-k and kindergarten hallway. At the end of May, they will personally deliver their collection to the Food Bank.
All are invited to the Sunday school end-of-year celebration
in the Parish Hall beginning at 9:30 a.m. on June 1. Each class will give a short presentation, and refreshments will be served.
All Saints' Day Camp
July 28th - August 1st - at the Bishop Claggett Center in Buckeystown. Registration deadline is June 22nd, no exceptions. Scholarships available. For more info, contact Rixey Hoult.
The Post Office Box
for Episcopal Relief and Development has changed to P.O. Box 7058, Merrifield, VA 22116-7058. The mail forwarding has expired. Please use the new address for all donations.
Cookbooks are here!
Visit the Cookbook table in the Gathering Space to buy a copy now or to pick up copies you have placed on reserve.
Book Sale
donations are now being accepted for the annual St. Mary’s Chapter Book Sale. Books can be placed on the cart inside the Patrick Street Entrance.
Blood Drive
will be held Saturday, June 7 from 8:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. in the Junior/Senior High Classroom. Call the church office to schedule your appointment.
Volunteers needed
Three individuals to help with blood drive on Saturday, June 7 from 10:00am. to 3:00 p.m. One must be 18 or older and credit for community service can be given. Contact Donna Seniff.
Call for Graduates
Please contact the church office if you or family member will be graduating from High School or College this spring. Graduates will be honored during a worship service in June.
Bread for Itipini
We raised $267.81 for the "Bread for Itipini" children's outreach project! Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Men’s Breakfast
will be held Saturday, May 31 at 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Bring a friend.
Youth Spring Retreat
on May 30 -June 1 at Summit Lake Camp. Registration forms are available in the church office or Youth classrooms, or from Ashley Miller. Cost is $85.00. Please complete and return forms ASAP. Deadline is Next Sunday May, 18 NO EXCEPTIONS. Parents, are needed to help chaperone. If you have time to offer over the weekend, either the whole time or part of it, that would be greatly appreciated. Contact Ashley Miller for more information.
Tree Donation
Two Crepe Myrtle trees have been donated to the Parish and planted at the Court Street entrance by Ed and Mary Cornish.
Lost and Found Box is full
Please come by the church office coat rack and look in the box for missing items. Unclaimed items will be donated to charity on Thursday, May 15. A woman’s black coat was found Sunday Night after the Diner’s Out. Please contact Lee Weber.
Community Night Dinner
on May 14 in the Great Hall. Check Gathering Space and Patrick Street bulletin boards for menu information. RSVP to the church office by May 12 at Noon.
Men’s Retreat
will be on Saturday, May 17 at Bishop Claggett Center. Father Tom Momberg will be the speaker. Contact Father Tom or Cam Overs if you are interested in attending. Bring your Bible and a friend.
Mother’s Day Brunch
will be held on Sunday, May 11. Paid reservations are required. You can make your paid reservation on Sundays after the 10:30am Services at the Sign up Table in the Parish Hall or in the church office by either calling (and mailing in your payment) or by dropping by in person with your payment. All reservations must be received and paid for by Monday, May 5 at Noon. Reservations will not be accepted after the deadline. See flyers on bulletin boards for more information.
Building and Grounds Stewardship
Everyone at All Saints’ who attends a meeting (which is almost everyone at All Saints’) can help be a good steward of our physical plant by doing the following:
If you are the last person to leave a room, turn out the light.
Clean up the room after a meeting or event.
Put chairs and other equipment back where they belong.
Check and lock outside doors when leaving the building.
New Trinity School Scholarship
has been established as a tribute to Pamela and James Seale. The fund will provide tuition assistance to families of Trinity School students in need. The fund was announced at the Ecumenical Holy Wednesday service. If you wish to make a donation to the Seale Tuition Assistance Fund, contact Rebecca Layman.
Softball Season is Coming
The All Saint’s Softball team is getting ready for the coming season. Anyone 15 or older can play on the team. More details are available in the March newsletter. If you are interested in playing please talk to Bill Collings or Steve Buckley.
Parking at All Saints’
A portion of the lot at the entrance of the new building is reserved for parking for handicapped and for persons who may not have a handicapped tag but have special needs for parking near to the building. Recently some parishioners with special needs have been unable to park near the building. Please keep these spots behind the handicapped sign for those who need this access.
California Guitar Trio
will be returning to All Saints Nave for another concert to benefit Witness Justice on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Please get your tickets early and come enjoy an evening of wonderful music.
