Part-time Assistant Music Director
The Assistant Music Director has primary responsibility for planning, coordinating and directing the music program in the church's blended worship services in the Great Hall.
Specific duties include:
- Selects a blend of contemporary and traditional Christian music appropriate to the Eucharistic readings and liturgical season.
- Consults and communicates with members of the clergy so that the musical program enhances the worship service.
- Schedules and conducts weekly rehearsal with the Great Hall choir.
- Directs and accompanies the Great Hall choir on Sunday and for special services throughout the year. (accompanies/directs the Junior or Youth choir once a month in the Great Hall service)
- Recruits and develops members for the Great Hall choir.
- Assists Music Director with development and enhancement of church's overall music program.
- Assists the Music Director with the development of the church's music budget.
- Selects and orders new music for the Great Hall choir and for the congregation at large.
- Maintains copyright licenses and all applicable permission forms for music performed by assigned choirs.
- Performs other duties assigned by the clergy and Music Director.
Required Skills:
- Proficient on piano and keyboard and able to support other musicians (i.e. guitars)
- Previous choral directing experience.
- Musical flexibility and diversity.
- Enjoys working with children as well as adults.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
