Worship at All Saints'
We have four different Eucharist experiences each weekend, as well as a mid-week Eucharist and a few other worship services. More than four hundred people attend one of these services each week. Our service schedule starts with the 5:00 p.m. Saturday service in the Historic Church. Generally a meditative service, it is a spoken service with Rite II language. At 8:00 a.m. on Sunday in our Historic Church, we offer a Rite I spoken Eucharist. This is a quiet, contemplative service with no music. At 10:30 a.m. in the Historic Church, we offer a Rite II Eucharist with traditional music. The music is often led by the adult Sanctuary Choir. The Youth Choir or Junior Choir sings on a monthly basis. A hand bell choir is added on occasion. Communion is offered both at the rail and at a standing station. The traditional “smells and bells” are included at certain special services. Also at 10:30 a.m., the Great Hall service offers a slightly modified Rite II Eucharist, with chairs rather than bench seating. Music for this service is contemporary, and is led by the Great Hall Choir. The Youth or Junior Choir sings once a month. To emphasize the importance of community, during Eucharist, the congregation forms a circle around the room. The communion is distributed by the clergy moving from person to person. Periodically, the youth of the parish lead worship during one of our regular Sunday services. Music is high energy, and is offered by the youth praise band. |
